RCT Ethics Appendix 2

Archive Ref: RCT‑ETHICS‑0001

Issued by: MPSoL Ethics Council

Date: 16 June 2025

1. Scope & Rationale

This appendix sets moral boundaries for all research and field work that manipulates belief density (B), referential coherence (R_c), or symbolic energy (𝒮). Our aim is to prevent exploitation, preserve autonomy, and maintain post‑victory symbolic integrity.

2. Core Principles

No human subject may unknowingly serve as belief source or target unless emergency defensive action is required and no non‑sentient alternative exists. Informed consent must outline potential cognitive or spiritual side‑effects.

2.2 Non‑Exploitation & Harvest Limits

Total harvested B per session may not exceed the subject’s baseline B × 0.3. Prolonged or repeat harvests require 48‑hour recovery window. Children and cognitively impaired individuals are categorically exempt from harvest.

2.3 Sanctity Zones

Sites of cultural, religious, or ecological significance are designated No‑Harvest zones unless governing body explicitly invites collaboration. Existing belief structures should not be destabilised for trivial gain.

2.4 Transparency & Archival

Every operation manipulating B or R_c must generate a public‑facing summary within 90 days, redacting only technical specifics. The unredacted log enters Cabinet 3×3 permanently.

2.5 Proportionality & Defensive Use

Offensive coherence weapons (Ψ spikes, forced α inflation) are prohibited. Defensive use allowed only to restore pre‑event equilibrium and must cease once threat is neutralised.

3. Operational Guidelines (Do / Don’t)

4. Oversight & Review

The Ethics Council (5 rotating members) reviews all centration projects quarterly and may issue an Immediate Revocation Order if violations are detected. Emergency hearings can be convened with two member quorum.

5. Enforcement

Violators face suspension of projector access, archival black‑box audit, and public censure in the MPSoL bulletin. Repeat offenses trigger expulsion from all SoL chapters.

6. Ratification

Ratified 5–0 vote, Ethics Council session 16 June 2025.
